**Alternative:** If you prefer something more local, Truchera Montemar has one dish and it’s a sure bet: fried trout with patac\u00f3n, salad, and guandolo (a traditional drink made with panela, herbs, and lime).<\/p>\n
### Hike to Mirador Cristo Rey (2:30 \u2013 4:00 PM)<\/p>\n
This is a must-do. The viewpoint offers one of the best panoramic views of Jard\u00edn and the surrounding valley. It’s about a 20-minute uphill walk from town. At the top, there’s delicious traditional food \u2014 the yuca arepas and grilled plantain with cheese come highly recommended.<\/p>\n

### Gelato at Cocoa Caf\u00e9 Franc\u00e9s (5:30 \u2013 6:00 PM)<\/p>\n
Authentic gelato recipe with local flavors and freshly made cones. Perfect for the walk back to the center.<\/p>\n
